Die fremde Braut
09 Oct 2005
While zapping through the stations on my car radio, I came upon an interview with Necla Kelek, German-Turkish sociologist and author of Die fremde Braut (The Foreign Bride), on forced marriages and the situation of Turkish women in Germany. She also tells the story of her own family who came to Germany when she was 10. This post is a reminder to myself to read the book. She's also speaking this week at the Goethe-Institut in Boston, and a short review is at signandsight (scroll down).
